New security rules took effect today at airports around the nation. At Manchester Airport, the new procedures didn't seem to cause any major slowdowns, even though airlines are now required to inspect every bag for explosives. Manchester is checking baggage by matching every bag with a passenger. One bag had to be removed from a plane this morning because the passenger did not show, but the flight was not delayed. Airport Manager Kevin Dillion explains how each airline is handling the new security. |

Gambling snitReturn to index of stories... |
The manager of the Rockingham Park racetrack wants an apology from gubernatorial candidate Gordon Humphrey. At a legislative hearing on Tuesday, Humphrey called gambling a scummy, sleazy business that has no place in New Hampshire. The hearing was on a bill that would allow thousands of video slot machines to be installed at the state's race tracks. Edward Callahan, who runs Rockingham Park, says Humphrey owes an apology to everyone who works at the state's four race tracks, not to mention New Hampshire residents who enjoy some kind of gambling, whether it be scratch tickets or bingo. Humphrey responded by saying he won't be silenced on this issue. |
